Hello everyone!
It’s been a while since i’ve written on here. I don’t really know what direction this blog is going in. But I want to start blogging more and see where it goes. I want to share some of the adventures I’ve been going on, even just in everyday life..and share about learning a second language.
I’ve gotten so much encouragement and inspiration out of watching travel bloggers and vloggers going from trips around the world to having adventures close to home and coming up with new types of content due to the pandemic. It’s been a sad but also joyful time for adventures.
I like: travel, lifestyle, language learning, and faith blogs…so maybe I will go in that direction. One thing I’ve learned during 2020-2021 is how to be more present (and yes I struggle with it lol). I’ve been feeling really nostalgic this year, partly because I got a camera at the end of last year. I think it started when I was leaving Paris in 2019…but it’s definitely got more intense this year.
Becoming more intentional about taking pictures and videos has given me a lot to look back on. It’s kind of funny how I’ve been getting nostalgic looking back at things that happened just a few days ago. If it wasn’t for the photos and videos I don’t think this year would be as endearing to me.
In terms of being present, having my camera with me forces me to find things to be thankful for, to search for the beauty/see what’s around me, and just be in the moment. Obviously in that there’s a balance between recording and sharing stuff and just living and experiencing things.
I’ve been missing France, partly because I’m missing traveling (even just little adventures), and because I’m working towards becoming fluent in French. Being surrounded by the language makes me want to be more surrounded by the things I like about the culture. So on Saturday I had a French themed picnic with my two younger sisters and two friends (more sisters).
It’s spring so I just want to have picnics (themed or not) all the time.
I’m going to try and find my “style” when it comes to blogging so I can be more present on here and share more regularly. I kind of want to just be in travel blogger mode even from home…I think having that sense of wonder RIGHT HERE in this season of being in New Mexico will be a good thing for me and for you guys. 🙂
Thanks for sticking with me and this blog as I’m finding what direction to go in.
